RentTide

Privacy policy

Last updated 17 October 2026

Draft for legal review. This policy will be finalised by our lawyers before RentTide takes paying customers.

1. Who we are

RentTide is provided by AJQ Pty Ltd. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and, where they apply, other privacy laws such as the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation.

2. Two kinds of information

Customer information. Information about you as a RentTide customer, such as your name, email, phone, business details, billing details and how you use the app. We decide how this is used.

Guest and tenant information. Information our customers put into RentTide about their guests and tenants, such as names, contact details, rent, payments, agreements, signatures, condition report photos and messages. Our customer decides how this is used, and we process it on their behalf. If you are a guest or tenant, please contact the landlord, host or agent who invited you first.

3. What we collect and why

4. Who we share it with

We don't sell personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run RentTide, under contracts that protect it, including:

Information is sent to the people you choose, for example when you email a guest their agreement.

5. Where it is stored

RentTide runs on Cloudflare's global network, so information may be processed in Australia and in other countries where Cloudflare operates. We take reasonable steps to make sure overseas providers protect it to a standard comparable to Australian law.

6. How we protect it

Connections are encrypted, each customer's data is kept separate, passwords are stored as one way hashes, and guest links use long random codes that can be reset. Access by our team is limited to what is needed to support and run the service.

7. How long we keep it

We keep information while an account is active and for 30 days after it closes so it can be exported, then delete it unless the law requires us to keep it longer, for example tax records.

8. Your choices and rights

You can access, correct or export your information in the app, or ask us at hello@renttide.com. Depending on where you live you may also have rights to delete information, object to or limit how it is used, and complain to a regulator. In Australia that is the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

9. Cookies

We use a small number of essential cookies to keep you signed in and secure. We don't use advertising cookies.

10. Data breaches

If a data breach is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify affected customers and the regulator as required by law, and help our customers notify their guests and tenants where needed.

11. Changes and contact

We'll post changes here and tell customers about significant ones. Questions or complaints can go to our privacy officer at hello@renttide.com. We aim to respond within 30 days.
